New Found Nuance
Blogs for Bush

Bush took advantage of Kerry's newly claimed position on the war in Iraq today, claiming political vindication:

President George W. Bush claimed political vindication Tuesday after Democratic rival John Kerry said he would have authorised military action in Iraq even knowing what he knows today.

"Almost three years after he voted for the war in Iraq, and almost 240 days after switching position and declaring himself the anti-war candidate, my opponent has found a new nuance," Bush told a campaign rally here.

"He now agrees it was the right decision to go into Iraq," said Bush, whose handling of the military operation has been a major issue in his quest for re-election in November.

Bush later added, "I want to thank Senator Kerry for clearing that up."

He did however, get in a clever jab at Kerry's tendency to flip flop on issues, saying, "There are still 84 days left in the campaign."

Further supporting my assertion however was Kerry's national security advisor Rand Beers counter statement:

"The issue is that we went to war without our allies, without properly equipping our troops and without a plan to win the peace," He said. "Its time for George W. Bush to come clean with the American people about his Iraq policy."
You just can't help but wonder how the Kerry camp can make claims of our troops not being properly equipped when Kerry voted AGAINST the funding for our troops, which was to provide them with necessary equipment to continue their mission.

It's time for Kerry to come clean about his "support" for the war, but his lack of support for our troops.

Exactly.....that's why he used the term....it was a figure of speech. Bush, on the other hand, was videoed in frozen fear all alone.....
