Lizzie, maybe they had good yields too. Don't know what's going on with the majors.

Do believe we need clarity on the inventory issue. Need to read the reports in detail to find out how Cisco is doing with their international sales - because I saw your post about Juniper int'l sales.

Overseas employment is picking up in one country. Easier for engineers to get a job over there than here.

On a different note, for the first time one of our accounts at work got held up because they need a cisco upgrade before they can install more so our future sale is now dependent upon how well Cisco can get into the account, but Cisco is MIA, even though this account is actively pursuing an upgrade. Unbelievable given the size of the account. Will probably have to find someone at Cisco to beat on in sales, to get a move on it.

Regards,
Amy J

The problem is that it rose 200m last quarter and another 100m this quarter. However, sales are expected to be flat going into next quarter. Maybe that is sufficient reason to be concerned....and this company has little room for disappointment as they have great margins and a high PE. Add Chamber's cautiousness and the picture gets foggy.

Maybe they just have to keep high inventories in case the economy picks. The potential for a slowdown is really the concern it seems. Will see how the market reacts...maybe it has been priced in with that big decline but I have my doubts.

My bet is that this is the early stages of a tech slowdown. The growth last year was too strong.

I am searching for comments on inventory but have not seen a positive spin on it yet.

It means they sunk a lot of cash in parts to build switches and routers that have a short shelf life until something bigger and better comes along and makes it a hard to sell item. Ends up getting written off like they did a couple of years ago when they finally admitted conditions were terrible.
