By the way...I'm pretty sure they moved Central Command after 9/11...

Major elements of Central Command HQ were moved to Qatar in and after September 2002, a year after 9/11.

Some wanted that to be a permanent move, but I believe most of the folks sent there have returned to CONUS.

mjfdl, Taking precautions is a wise thing to do in any, uncertain, circumstance.

Central Command has not yet been moved. It is still there and functioning in the usual way. What did move, was the headquarters for the war in Iraq. The combat officers, and staffs, were moved to an HQ location in Qatar, but the guts of CC are still on McDill Air Force Base. From what I have heard, they have a computer system that would make Bill Gates blush, and can see any part of the planet, at any time. Just hearsay, but I wouldn't doubt it.
