What's the problem, then? Package it in cement and bury it in Yucca Mtn. Getting it there isn't that big a risk... the military transports nuclear weapons every day, sometimes in airplanes yet. The shipping and storage containers are pretty tough... I saw a video of one being hit broadside by a locomotive to simulate a RR crossing accident... no leaks. The risk and expense of letting it sit on hundreds of sites for 10,000 years is certainly a considerable risk and expense.
