I think I remember some incredibly large numbers for halibut poundage, although my understanding is once they weigh over 300 lbs a lot of that "delicate halibut" flavor is lost. LOL. For me, any fish much larger than a medium sized chinook is too big anyway. The idea of taking a .45 to a fish before you could land him is what tickles my lower 48 sensibility.
