the good stuff (which is mainly numbers) outweighs the bad stuff (which is half qualitative "wobbly guidance"). I think it is a good buy down here (relative to other large cap tech names).

The problem is not Cisco itself. The entire tech sector's growth is really in doubt....and the current prices (especially of the high growth companies) could just be too high. The PEs have go much lower in a lot of cases.

That said, the Naz and Dow are rebounding on the oil news---just don't think it can last.

On the inventory issue, you might be right, but that excuse didn't hold water the last time inventories started to get away from Cisco. In mid 2000, inventories started to grow, and Cisco management maintained that there was no reason to worry for much the same reasons that you're citing now. Cisco management was wrong then. The market is not waiting around this time to see if they're wrong again.
