Former GOP Sen. Hecht owes life to Democratic candidate Kerry Wharfie, now that is a story that needs to be better publicized by the Kerry camp. They don't have to ask Hecht to appear with Kerry since that might appear contrived. Just let voters know that, in a crisis, Kerry is a man of action. Another Republican, former Green Beret Jim Rassman, has already attested to that. Let the American electorate make their own contrast between John Kerry and a certain goggle-eyed fool. What if it had been Bush getting off the elevator instead of Kerry? He would have given Hecht the "My Pet Goat" look or worse, started pointing and giggling. Dubya: Heimlich? Oh yeah...That's one of my favorite beers.
