Americans in general like war heroes and they detest any throwing of mud on their war heroes. The establishment at that time thorugh a very laborious process have determined and awarded the awards to John Kerry. For the Swiftvets to call that process into question is something the Americans do not like. Since that ad came out Kerry has widened his lead over Bush by 1% at Rassmussen reports (nothing to do with Mr. Rassmann, a Kerry supporter even though they sound alike.)
