And since ANF was doing the heavy lifting for the 'safe' portfolio, its now sunk underwater to join 'double' and all the indices:

I guess I'm in agreement with you on ANF for now as I'm still holding half of what I had but haven't decided to buy more yet. It would be terrific if JC would chime in on his current view of ANF about now.

p.s. I made 2 buys yesterday - PARS (a bio with an interesting product in late stages of Phase III testing) and COSN (trading well below cash which they've been burning at a rapid rate as their business stinks but management recently decided to look into potential sale of company).

The Bearishness was reaching a feverish pitch on ANF and GPS. When a stock goes up sharply on bad news (but not as bad as expected), the bad news is very likely priced into the stock:

The Street had ANF and GPS on Death Watch IMO:

Look at S, up almost 4% on much worse than expected same store sales!

It is likely a bottom of sorts is in!
