this 'cycle' is so screwed up it may never get fixed. Gottfried I think the "proper" term is "Fubar" for 9 months the Splinter, Hills, Bagleys et al are being asked for their input only to learn their opinion doesn't really matter. How does one expect confidence level among CEO's to improve? In the meantime IC sales are close in approaching record levels from 2000/2001 - and we do NOT even have a killer application. There is a self destructive element in this market to wring out excessive bullishness - it's intersting to note (at least to me) that one of the largest capex spenders (DRAM, Flash, Flat panel, cell phones, consumer electronics) does NOT respond to the daily gloom and doom: finance.yahoo.com
