The issue is John O'Neill's credibility. Before I start believing his book, I would like to know what is his record. It is a documented fact (sone Oval office photo of 1972) where Mr. O'Neill is pictured with Nixon. Needless to say that Nixon was proved to be a crook and before the House impeached him he turned tail and resigned. So he is a crook (Watergate). No doubt about that and there should be no debate to the effect "what is is and is not (Clintonesque, though hit sounds brilliant when Clinton says it)" So O'Neill is a crook "guilt by association". When Kerry was fighting to get all the soldiers back he was fighting to keep the soldiers in the line of fire in a war which was a mistake.
