It's not "bogus" just because YOU think it is! Additionally Buddy, I guess from your response common courtesy and good taste don't need apply in YOUR circles? If I pay $100 dollars to see a band play music, then don't waste my time spouting your political beliefs.

"You don't have to 'like it'... maybe you'd prefer some country where people DON'T have the right to Free Speech?"

We don't free speech here on these SI topics. I was banned from the "Kerry for President" thread for pointing out a few bigoted comments by SiouxPal.

Jake is, of course, quite right - but leftists will aim to cheat him with impunity as long as they get their way. What you do here is supplant the right of the consumer with the right of a singer to free speech. It is a false view.

Once a singer enters the contract implied by a consumer's purchase of a concert ticket, they are morally bound to produce the product in full. If I pay to hear BAND A, based upon advertisements that present no politics and only music, I am expecting to hear BAND A's music. I didn't pay for music and politics, but only music. That is the product that was advertised and it is what should be provided. Should BAND A at its concert then supplant a portion of the time I have purchased to give me a political speech, then BAND A has cheated me, whether I agree with being cheated or not.

Human rights do not permit you to run roughshod over the rights of others. When people pay good money for a product, they ought to get the product and not have even the slightest bit of purchased time or space consumed on something wholly separate from the product or from the benefit the product aims to provide.

If you were truly Libertarian, you would have an intense respect for the rights of consumers to have their contracts with service providers properly fulfilled. But you are not Libertarian. You are leftist. And leftists are liars. When you claim that someone has a right to "free speech" despite that people paid with their lives to hear that person's specific speech, you overlook the rights of the consumer - just like a leftist. Free speech gives you the right to speak your mind without being punished by the government. It gives you no right to overlook your moral obligations.

But you leftists have no sense of morality. So you have no sense of obligation to anyone but yourselves.
