you don't think character counts that much. I think that in this case it does. IF the Swift Vets are right, this is the worst case of self promotion we have ever seen in a Presidential candidate.


So, I'll ask you what I've asked everyone else who has made your point--given a choice between a candidate with character who would implement a national health system and institutionalize political correctness and wage a war on global warming, for example, and a candidate without character who would privatize social security and health care and cut taxes, whom would you choose?

We can sermonize about character until the cows come home but I don't believe that anyone with even half a brain would say character trumps everything. It's not that we're indifferent to character lapses, only that choices aren't simple and we have to prioritize.
