Z, Do the words "compassionate conservative" ring a bell? The ridiculing by the left shows that they think "conservatism" is anything but compassionate. You're going to have to bring up concrete examples, because slogans are just slogans. What's compassionate about reversing environmental laws that were put in place to protect people's health and well being? What's compassionate about sending men and women to be maimed and killed in a senseless war? What's compassionate about refusing to let two people who love each other marry each other? What's compassionate about arresting people and throwing them in jail for years without sufficient cause? What's compassionate about looking the other way when people are tortured and abused in the prisons you control in a foreign country? Get out of daNile, Ten.......for a democracy, this is one very brutal administration! Don't listen to what they say but watch what they do! ted

Apparently Rove & Co. thought that enough of the American people thought that people on the right were uncompassionate that they had to coin that phrase and then use it to position Bush just right of the middle. -Z
