I think we should have waited the 45 days, which is what the other fence-straddling SC members said they needed to vote yes on our proposal. Then, let France stand alone and veto the resolution. Make them the bad guys, instead of us, in the eyes of the world. Bush could throw up his hands, and with RIGHTEOUS indignation, say we did everything we could. Instead, Bush has repeatedly ceded the moral high ground to somehow demonstrate our will. Unfortunately, it has backfired. Wisdom and strength are not opposing values.
