For very good reason..........the "other side" controls both the presidency and Congress. They pull the strings and they refuse to listen to the other side. You believe in what you believe in, Bush believes in what he believes in, and Kerry believes in whatever the hell he feels like believing in at the moment. I'll respect people like you or Bush or even Hillary Clinton over someone without a spine to have a strong belief in anything. You really don't believe the GOP spin/propaganda where they use the word, nuanced, incorrectly in order to paint Kerry a flip flopper, do you? Its a bunch of BS to sway the less informed. You are not less informed.I learned back in elementary school (yes, that far back) that you can't please everyone all of the time, that you have to follow a core set of beliefs or else you'll be just plain ineffective as a leader. Maybe so but when you're president you have to have more than just half of your people behind you to be effective. As for the polarization of this country, that's because everyone is so damn sure that what they believe in is right and true that no one else could possibly be right. Ten, wake up and smell the coffee..........Iraq has turned into the quagmire that many people predicted over a year. They felt strongly about their position and were ignored. If the Bush administration had been successful in Iraq, with the war on terror, with the economy etc., they wouldn't be worried about getting fired in November. Bush's re election would be a shoo in. And yet you pretend that its the big, bad ABB people who are fault. Do you not see the hypocrisy of that perception? Bush is the problem and not the ABB people. ted
