Ted, my original point, which you tried to refute, was that Bush didn't pretend not to be a conservative.

What I refuted is the compassionate conservative moniker he took on in 2000.

You're arguing from the standpoint that conservatism is by its very nature heartless and cruel, which is why you think "compassionate conservatism" isn't real conservatism at all.

Whether Bush is conservative at all is apparently subject to some question.........at least according to other conservatives. What I do know is that Bush is a sh*t kicking, bible thumping redneck who represents the GOP. And frankly, I ain't arguing over that one......he is what he is.

Either way, Bush has never run away from conservatism. Why does Kerry run away from liberalism?

In 2000, Bush did run from hard core Republicanism........we didn't hear about his talks with God until after the election.
