You are right. CNN did like Arnett until it was proven to them that Arnett was filing false stories. Ditto for TIME magazine. You think one person can withstand a smear and denial campaign by the US Army???? It was hardly the US Army. It was a few dozen guys from the Special Forces Assn. and they proved that Arnett was lying b y getting everyone involved in the operation to write out what they did and swear to it, including all support personnel. Ted Turner fired Arnett and TIME said they had been duped by CNN. Do you think it would have been better to let everyone think Special Forces committed a major atrocity when it never ever happened? We have the same thing going on again now...The only difference is instead of a reporter lying it is John Kerry. And instead of a few dozen soldiers it is a few dozen sailors. Are you telling me you prefer to let the lies stand. Do you think these American sailors should just shut up and let Kerry tell us lies as he did at the DNC? Just how fn gullible are you willing to be? Would you like to buy a bridge?
