It's too early to say. 5 cases in two families sound like human to human, but it could be common objects. Two fatalities were sisters age 1 and 4 and condition of other family members was not reported. However, cases have been admitted between July 19 and August 8, so this story is still evolving. If its airborne and easily transmitted, there will be major problems. Case fatality rate is extremely high and deaths are very rapid, much like the 1918 pandemic.

Of great concern is the possible human / human transmission in Hau Giang province in Vietnam

recombinomics.com

Although media reports are still a bit confusing, the possible human / human transmission between a brother, sister, and cousin (all young and all died at the same hospital in July and August), remains very real.

The name of the confirmed H5N1 case has been released and it matches the initials of the "elder sister" in the family cluster involving a brother, sister, and cousin
