The far rightwing has tried to hijack christianity in this country. My family has a long history of involvement in the church. Except for one cousin (who later turned into an alcoholic) I have never met any good christians who back a far right agenda, and I've met hundreds and hundreds. I know a good christian when I see one and these people are not. In fact much of what they support Jesus would have a major problem with.

Hey there Suma!!! Most religions describe God as basically the same thing............it's a male being that represents a loving, compassionate image and who is kind of a "father figure" in that he cares for all of us in many different ways. I personally think that religions are the creation of man and they tend to create their Gods in the image of man instead of vice versa...............in that lies the trouble because man has anger, fear, loathing, greed, etc which are all human qualities. I don't believe that GOd is that nasty and that he doesn't possess those rotten human qualities. I also personally think that religion is a relatively "safe" way for us to experiment with out spirituality. Most other contacts with the spirit world are not fully understood or laughed at by many. We can go to church, pray to a God and other spirits and no one thinks we are weird. All that garbage about only one chosen religion is the creation of human ego...............and it works cause everyone wants to be special in some way. Bin Ladin and Bush both have claimed that their God is on their side...............both are wrong in my opinion!! ( Time to get down off my soap box and get something done here ).
