That's how you know it's soon to turn. You need to be a contrarist in this market. When everyone has given up... double down and it will more than double up. Lucent needed this to happen. You had a fat vendor that knew how to survive when 100% of the orders came from a monopolized market. It's taken years since the wake-up started occuring in 1999 but Lucent has focused for the first time on core strengths. Next Gen switching, LSS to the RBOCs Telica to everyone else, DSLAMs with ADSL2+ and VDSL2 selling into the telecom TV market which is shaking loose Cable subscribers by the millions... A hot optical market... not a bad time at all for the small investor to be acquiring IMHO...

well, I agree. In the telecommunications industry, there are too many players, and all of them will not survive.
