This year, voters just don't like negative attacks. Edwards proved that in the primaries anmd Kerry seized on it. If they want them, they can to go Newsmax or listen to Hannity, the SwiftLiarsFromHell or go see Fahrenheit 9-11. Despite 90 million in dishonest negative attacks and millions of other nagtive attacks on radio, internet and TV, the Republicans can plainly see Bush in a growing hole of his own making. Inching over 50% disapproval ratings nationally and doing poorly in Florida and Ohio with over 50% disapprovals, Bush is sinking in these two crucial must-win states for him. lso going Kerry's way are a half dozen other must-win states for Bush, including some southern states which are now toss-ups. Now the GOp will put all their moderates and minorities onstage for their convention in order to fool us, but it won't work. We have heard the rightwing extremists too damn much. We know who is really behind Bush. Swing-voters are like Colin Powel. They trusted, got burned and have seen enough. And they know damn well McCain cannot stand Bush even though he campaigns a little for him. What Kery proved at his convention was that he is an amazing guy, a brave man, a special man and a very forceful and articulate leader who has unified half the nation. That is enough to deem him acceptable, if not exceptional. IMHO he may become one of the greatest prsidents we have ever had, and Edwards may do just as well after him. Time for the GOP to clean house and go back to being honest again. That will mean becoming more moderate as many extremist positions are corrupt.
