a central pillar of the campaign.

just because he made it the pillar of his campaign doesn't mean that the best thing to do is attack it, if you know what i mean. Kerry went to war, GWB didn't, but then he did, Kerry changed too, but Bush used 10 year old plans, so to speak. Something is wrong with this picture.

it would be tough for Bush to stop them if he wanted to. And he doesn't really want to.

With his checkered National Guard service, he has to absolutely stay out of it. It is so difficult at this point to see how this is going to go. I feel like Woodward and Bernstein must have felt before the first articles broke.

The book is due out Tuesday. The shitstorm of fire at the Swift Vets will be very hard to watch. I am sure the major media is getting ready to go after them.

After seeing the Wall Street Journal run Rassman's defense, I wouldn't be surprised to see them join in. And you can be sure that someone will get at least one of the Swift Vets to recant. The Kerryfolk will find a pressure point.
