GVTucker, we both apparently equated Shares Issued with Shares Outstanding ... which is not valid for companies using the Treasury Stock Method. After subtracting treasury stock for the Apr '04 quarter, the shares outstanding numbers are ... Begin (2,721 - 165) MM = 2,556 MM End (2,726 - 199) MM = 2,527 MM Weighted average 2,539 MM That puts the 'weighted average' between the 'begin' and 'end' numbers .. which is the usual case. Unfortunately, the PR did not give the relevant numbers for this latest quarter. We'll have to wait for the 10-Q. Ron
