CRY BABY KERRY KISSERS and other girly men I have found it so again and again. The Foreign Affairs thread is also a girlie thread. And the Kerry thread has long been dominated by those who are intellectually challenged when it comes to dealing with the opposition. And I always delight in discovering those who simply cannot tolerate humor. Humor seems to really be a challenge to those who have trouble both emotionally and intellectually. Why? Because humor requires the ability to discriminate between what is true, what is false, and what is merely exaggerated for effect. Oh well. So much for the Kerry thread. It is struggling. It is dominated by a very few who are incapable of tolerating opposing thought and opposing thinkers. Example: the thread moderator thought that I was expressing some kind of awful prejudice when I dared to divide the nation into "Coasters" and others. He missed the point entirely because he is not capable of discerning humor when confronted by it. In other words, he takes his biases much too seriously.
