I think the Israelis are made of much tougher stuff than we are.

In Judaism it’s called Tactical Pacifism, you can read more about it here.

The tension between the laws dealing with peace, and the obligation to self-defense, has led to a set of Jewish teachings that have been described as tactical-pacifism. This is the avoidance of force and violence whenever possible, but the use of force when necessary to save the lives of one's self and one's people. 216.239.41.104

Tactical Pacifism yields no direct hits on Wikipedia, so for starters you might want to try this: en.wikipedia.org

It says that No page with this exact title exists, but nevertheless.

I think they have had to be tough but the US has been and still is pretty tough as well when we need it, we just haven't really needed it much recently.
