BTW-- I saw a brief reference at the end of a program yesterday to USA Today spiking a story that was positive for Bush; did you see this?

I don't follow USA Today. I said when the Swift boat story first broke that one of the interesting things to watch is the media spin. It is going exactly as I figured. First the spike. That is what is going on now. Next is the outrage. You see that in the Editorials and columns in papers like the Post that haven't even run an article on it. Next week the major media will run distorted articles and/or TV segments that malign the Swiftees. Then they will spike the story again.

It is do predictable. Sad.

Hi Rambi,

Welcome to the club! Once you have other sources and begin to notice what the mass media don't cover as well as what they do, things just naturally come into a different focus.

Much of this is not deliberate. The journalists are strongly liberal, so they needn't do more than get up in the morning and bring their own attitudes to work with them to produce a liberal POV program.

But some of it is deliberate, and the different treatment of Bush's and Kerry's military records is a pretty blatant reminder of that.
