The original point is getting lost. I was trying to point out that most folks fear nukes because they understand the threat.

Most do not yet fear bio or chemical only because they do not yet understand the threat.


I agree with your point that people are conditioned to appreciate the threat of nukes and may not be knowledgeable about the rest and that may account for much of the fear priority that nukes get. Nonetheless, even if people were equally aware, nukes would still be the most fearful because they are objectively and conspicuously the most destructive. You just can't compare a pock to a city-sized radioactive crater and come away in awe of the pock.
