LOL: Blue collar and middle class folks and veterans voting for Bush are like the chickens casting a vote for Colonel Sanders. Plus, add in the tax-like increases of: -state and local fees and taxes -energy, especially gas (just wait until cold weather) -food -all goods transported by truck and plane The majority of Americans are getting even more behinder while the ultrawealthy get dividends and capital gains and pay less in taxes! Huh?

Tax Burden Grows Heavier For Middle Class How could it be otherwise? Huge cuts in upper-income tax rates, huge cuts in dividend and capital-gain rates, corporations paying zip. Middle class and upper-middle now have a large part of their investments in tax-deferred vehicles where dividend and capital gain tax rates mean absolutely nothing since all withdrawals are taxed at the much-higher ordinary income rate. Those tax cuts are just one more welfare program for the uber-wealthy. Another factor...starving the IRS for audit funds has created massive tax cheating using some of the favorite tax-evasion vehicles of rich individuals and corporations, like offshore accounts and real-estate partnerships. Their audit rates are extremely low so why worry since the IRS has been told to spend a large chunk of audit funds on hounding the working poor on their earned income tax credits. Gotta do something about that damn socialism.
