Ted, Ten, the lie was about having sex with a woman, not about trading state secrets. Many of us lie when we get caught fooling.....at least initially. You may be one of the few that don't but I bet if I spent enough time with you, I would find a serious flaw in your make up. We all have our own personal demons. Some of us overcome them, some of us learn to live with them, some even try and hide them. How we deal with them makes up the measure of a man. Anyway, if mine became exposed, I'd probably come clean at the first opportunity. It doesn't matter what sort of public position I have at the moment, because I would never consider myself so important as to put myself above the law or even above moral responsibility. (Or if I do, then I deserve everything that happens to me later on.) It also wouldn't matter who my political opponents are at the time, because the issue is about me, not them. They can accuse me all they want, for good motives or for bad, but whatever their motivation, they'll get their just rewards (via God's grace, karma, Darwinism, whatever). Yes, it's easy for me to say now, but that's what I look for in a man, and that's the kind of man I hope to be if ever I'm in a public position. And if by then I've got inner demons that I'm still trying to hide, well then maybe I shouldn't be in that position at all. Think my standards are too high, that my talk is cheap? I wouldn't blame you if you did, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Tenchusatsu
