"Here Comes the Sun" ... ignorant is the word ...

.......... The personality profiles of Bush supporters are astonishing to me. They are an odd lot. I simply don't understand them. The reasons for their financial successes are varied. It's not simply hard work. A lot of the times it was a bit of fortune and chance.

I was amazed when I got cancer last year and didn't have health insurance. One of my clients, a Bush supporter, organized a fund raiser. The biggest donor was another Bush supporter. They're both wonderful people. I wanted to get friendlier with them. But something kept us apart. Both knew I was a "liberal." That's really an evil word with right wingers, you know.

Real right wingers still think Iraq was a good idea, that massive deficits are irrelevant, that taxes should be stopped, and that social programs should be cut. They want to personalize charity--like how I was helped last summer. They really did help me.

Social structures that take care of the downtrodden are a thing of the past in this country. The only hope to resurrect them is to put a stop to this neanderthal behavior of the neocons that we are experiencing in the early part of the 21st century.
