The SwiftVet issue has sent all Kerry's supporters here at SI into hysteria. It's obvious that particular subject has them reaching for Prozac. Matthews was starting to fantasize about receiving at least one dinner invitation per wk from a JK White House. When he looked into John O'Neill's eyes and saw integrity, his dream started to fade away...Matthews became unglued towards end of the interview.

John O'Neill is a pathetic liar. He claimed many times he served with Kerry. A LIE. He never even met Kerry in Vietnam. O'Neill is a paid political operative of the far right. He was first hired by Chuck Colson, head of Nixon's dirty tricks division, who was imprisoned for his dirty tricks tactics they were so illegal. COlson confessed and became a minister in prison. O'Neill refuses to confess. O'Neill lost a debate with Kerry in 1971, but he's been harboring a grudge ever since. Not even a rational grudge just a personal and political grudge. Now once again O'Neill appears lying that he served with Kery and he's not connected with the Bush campaign, even though he's an oil lawyer working with some of Bush and DElay's biggest supporters. He also claims he has all this "evidence" that Kerry was somehow a "liar" or whatever, but nonen of it is real and it's at best just opinions from Bush supporting far rightwing vets. Since Bush and Kerry are almost tied amongst vets, it's easy to find any number of vets to denounce one or the other candidate. Like O'Neill they may even lie and say they served with Kerry. The guy who co-wrote the hit piece book with O'Neill is recently quoted as slurring Catholics, Jews and Muslims. So you know where these creeps are coming from.
