AS, you may recall that we discussed the issue of Kerry's medals a year ago. At that time, I posted some articles to you that dealt with the issue of "medal inflation," the propensity of the various services to award medals that would not have been awarded in prior conflicts. This trend started in Vietnam. Kerry appears to have been a beneficiary of this trend. I don't particularly care if he gamed the system; a lot of other people did the same thing.

I also think that the SwiftVets should have focused on Kerry's post-Vietnam activities. Maybe they did. I have not read the book. However, given the fact that by the time you knocked off last night, you had made 71 out of the first 204 posts on this thread, 34.8% of the total posts, that leads me to believe that there may be something to what they have to say. So I hopped onto Amazon this morning and ordered a copy of the book. Thank you for the recommendation.

Even if Kerry were to win in November, this is an issue that is going to dog him for a long time.
