The SFers did not open up to Robin like he wanted. Coupla reasons for that operational security for current and future OPs being the most important. So he had to use some Kerry like sources if you know what I mean for OP data, And some of the political observations are just plain wrong. Robin is a lot older now. He walks with a very severe limp and cane. He is very stooped and cannot hold his head upright. When he was younger, he was in great shape and could be an asset so the guys in operational areas let him hang around more. Now he is a liability and they don't do that. He is accepted in SF circles because he completed the SF course back in the early 60s. But since he is a writer nobody tells him much. jmho. I should add I have only read excerpts from the book. I got the story first hand so never got motivated to read it.
