That Bush TV ad is a bald-faced lie. The only intelligence budget Kerry wanted to "slash" was during the post Cold War peace dividend period. Cheney and Shelby of Alabama supported Kerry's same votes per Time magazine and it was not about cutting very much, just re-allocating. Even then Kerry was so right when he fought for more human intelligence and less expensive satellite systems. Satellites did not stop 9-11. Nor did a President who was a asleep at the wheel ignoring warnings.
