That dinner tax thing is an old rightwing trick, an excuse, an attempt to avoid the real issue which is what happens when the rich get off easy, the gap between rich and poor widens greatly. Also, you don't account for the fact rich people use tax loopholes and top accountants to avoid paying anywhere near what they're supposed to pay.

I know, I was rich for 3 years and never paid more than 20%. "Perfectly Legal". Read that book.
