Now Japan will be hit with a demographic storm, and I am not sure what will happen, but a lot may take place.

jay, would you care to expound on that a bit? i have read the demographic argument wrt japan's population for some time....the lack of spending due to the aging demographic...

the usa counter argument has been we have immigration to counter the aging demographic....but at the same time, the argument in favor of immigration is that immigrants take the jobs "americans don't want"...

those jobs tend to be low paying, entry level jobs, jobs with little forward advancement....meaning lower paying..

is this the population that will sustain an economic recovery despite an aging american demographic?

bottom line is i don't see that we are so conspicuously different from japan, and the demographic woes that beset her.... despite arguments to the contrary
