Actually, TideGlider, the Ph. D. came in 1966, thanks to financial assistance along the way available through the provisions of the GI Bill for which veterans of WWII were qualified. The 1969-1972 part of my resume has to do with my service as President of a small private college in Tennessee, after I retired from the United States Department of State assignment as Cultural Officer at the American Embassy, Oslo, Norway. Incidentally, one of my responsibilities in that position was to administer the Fulbright Educational Exchange Program in Norway.
