For many years, I had occasion to be in DC in April...LOTS of protesters there for the WTO and World Bank talks, NATO 50th Anniversary, etc....We were even there in DC when Oklahoma City happened, and Columbine a few years later. We saw protesters in the hotels we were in...right in near the White House, and expensive to stay. Most of these folks are not just "kids" out on a lark...they are paid by some organization ~~are well dressed, have LOTS of expensive communication equipment with them, walkie-talkies, cell phones, cameras, etc etc.... They dress the part of "scruffies" but most of them are by no means down and outters.... I've always wondered why some enterprising journalist or two doesn't infiltrate some of these groups, and write the "real story" behind their hatred of the US.
