You can buy the book online from Amazon.com, where it's still #1, has been for weeks. I haven't seen it in bookstores, will check at Costco and Borders later today.

I don't know what the official date of release was, but I ordered from Amazon on Aug 5th and was informed it would be shipped today Aug 17th. Others had copies to read last week, so I'm with you.

Barnes and Noble and others may be holding up distribution of the book.

I don't understand why some had it early?? and others had to wait.

M

I went to both Borders and B& N today. Tommy Franks on display but no Unfit for Command. They did however, have three separate displays of "hate" Bush books (about 6-8 different ones in each display). They were placed near the check out stations and in different locations so there would be no way a customer would not see the displays. Perhaps, that is called "liberal" marketing. :)

The thought occurred to me last night, that Barnes and Noble and others may be holding up distribution of the book.

I think the problem is a publisher who is not geared up to sell a million copies in the first month. I read that they did a second printing of a quarter million last week. Your problem is that you chose to live in the boonies.
