Great non-answer to my post. You didn't address the issues I raised. And democracy in Nicaragua didn't happen because of the CIA or US efforts. The US set up another dictator there. It only happened because Nicaragua's own people embraced the idea for themselves and made it happen.

Nicaragua was a dictatorship but today it's a democracy.

A most blatant inaccuracy on your part! You seem to give credence to accusations that you are out here to spread misinformation and worse......

Nicaragua was already democratic before Reagan destroyed it.

==================================

Nicaragua was an up-and-coming state with a popularly elected government when Republican president Reagan destroyed it and installed a terrorist (CONTRAs) in its stead, in the early 1980s. Even to this day, Nicaragua has not recovered. Sickness and poverty are rife everywhere. Evidently you have not been to Nicaragua.

Why did Reagan destroy Nicaragua?
That's another story for another day.

Ann,

Your thread was a good idea, but I see it's become contaminated.
