Can't tell you how disappointed I am with the Education community. Their criticisms of NCLB are outrageous when you consider that USA spends more per student than any other country, without receiving basic proficiency result for far too many students. Their rant against GW of "lack of funding" for NCLB is absolutely ridiculous. Taxpayers certainly expect at least basic performance for their huge tax outlay and that in fact is all that NCLB requires. Teachers/Adm act as though NCLB requires that elementary schools graduate an entire student body of honors students. That's not the case, it merely expects "basic" improvement in Math & Reading...certainly a minimal expectation.
