gotta fight fire with fire. kerry has his eyewitnesses appearing with him at the convention and making speeches about it. what we have seen from the swift boat vets is just john o'neill on tv. nice but i can't overemphasize someone other than just o'neill should be talking. somebody who was There. i think i already understand what was going on with kerry, and many, many people cannot believe it until they watch someone connect the dots who was There. i have directly managed very large groups (hundreds of people) of very educated people, and i am thinking of two classics that crossed my path that "required constant or close supervision." one of them was smart as hell in software, and the other my boss thought was a make-it-happen person. these people could tell me or their manager something critical about schedules or completion of items that was just a flat-out lie. these people cause untold wasted hours and personnel problems with other people in the organization, but somehow they have supporters and friends in the group too. they are really amazing to behold in their endeavors. one must catch them in some serious set of circumstances, and somehow get rid of them. that is why i can easily believe that the commanders may have been super happy to find (or for kerry himself to find) a way to get kerry out of his job/unit. i still think o'neill needs to manage these political shows better with eyewitness voices other than just his own. maybe that is his plan down the talk show road. i think it needs to be in his plan.
