I take him at his word.....knowing the state of Guard recordkeeping in those days...I'm not terribly surprised there is no "document".....

Listen how many national guard men do you think transferred between units during their six year enlistment. Do you have any idea how the guard works? Just moving with your job and getting into another unit can take months. And when you make up drills it is usually with another unit that may have nothing to do with the job type you are qualified for. mos... it is a report and sit until time to go home. No one will notice you, while you are at the unit.
