I am not familiar with the VA system. I use the Army hospital system and the military Tri-Care system and love it. What determines whether one can use the military system or is stuck with VA? I have a relative who is a Marine Corps. Lt. Col., Ret. He makes it a point to live within driving distance of a base with medical facilities so he can use the health care as well as Base Exchange. Can any retired military person do this or is there a length of service requirement?
