unclewest: that record does exist. Berger found it among the archives and stuffed it in his socks and shorts. He still has those records even though he has removed them from his socks and shorts because it was a bit uncomfortable to keep them there.

I think that what Kerry and Meehan are suggesting is what you see about covert operations on TV - "this never happened, if you get caught, you don't exist."

Pretending to be a Secret Agent Man may be the dumbest thing Kerry has ever done. The last refuge of the nutball.

We now know that Kerry like to daydream about his missions in his notebooks. Brinkly got to read them for his Bio of him, and has copies. I suspect that this is Berger's source.

If Kerry denies the info in the notebooks, he makes himself out to Brinkly as a liar. Brinkly would probably go public to protect HIS reputation. Kerry is really hoisted on his own petard.
