Les, Comstock Homes has been around for a while. I've got a builder friend who used to own his own construction company and did fairly big subdivisions everywhere from here down to Fredericksburg. He eventually went to work for Comstock as land acquisition honcho. True, haven't heard much about them lately, however. Come to think of it, I also know some title company owners who at one time had some sort of biz arrangement with that firm.
