An October surprise is almost guaranteed

Yes, but those October surprises can run both ways IMO.
I am not cocky for sure, just looking at the Bush bad news stories coming out every day.
CNN and MSNBC are exposing more and more truths.
FOX is alone on their "Murdoch island".
We have not seen Kerry's best yet. He will time it well.

You have a good point. Charley Rose had Buckley on Monday and he asked him point blank if Bush was going to lose. Buckley hemed and hawed and did not really answer. Rose mentioned that he knew Republican friends of Buckley that were not going for Bush. My reaction was oh, oh

Then there was this from the NY Times of 8/16 in a column by Elizabeth Bumiller titled "WHITE HOUSE LETTER
On the Road, Bush Fields Softballs From the Faithful"

>>"Many times the questions aren't even questions at all. Exhibit A might be these words from an audience member in Niceville, Fla., on Tuesday:

"I'm 60 years old and I've voted Republican from the very first time I could vote. And I also want to say this is the very first time that I have felt that God was in the White House.''

"Thank you,'' Mr. Bush replied, to applause"<<

You just know god is out there working for the selected one.

Kerry will win if he can manage to keep his mouth shut and avoid the cameras.

Of course, the election could be event-driven, but there is no sign of a break in Iraq or in apprehending bin Laden.

I think the American people are pretty much convinced that the Bush Administration si playing politics with the fear of terrorism and terrorism in general. Was it not you who posted a article to this effect from The Financial Times?

So if there is a October surprise on Bin Laden or Al Zawahari, it will reinforce people's conception of Bush playing politics with terrorism. And then it would be interesting to watch the reaction of the American people. They would be pissed mad the n that if Bush has Bin Laden all along then why did he invade Iraq and loose 1000 US military me and the billions of dollars? And on and on;

The "October surprise" may well be the source of the Valerie Plame leak.

An October surprise is almost guaranteed and Rove is the master of dirty tricks.
