Thanks Poet. It's the "Big Brother" aspect that gets under my skin.

This country is proud to be a democratic country. Its President wants to spread democracy to other countries. How mature is the electorate is evidenced by what issues the electorate considers to elect their candidates.

Right now we are bogged down by stupid assinine issues such as what constitutes marriage, who has what wealth.

We have Senator McCain asking Bush to denounce the denigration of one's service to the country through the Swiftboat ads. He has not done so. And Mrs. Heinz-Kerry refuses to release her finances. Which one should be more important to America? The President denouncing the ad and thereby upholding the country's system of giving military awards of is it more important to encroach on one's privacy including those of her adult children who have nothing to do with Kerry's campaign.

As Americans proud of our system, I think we must first have our priorities straight.
