In case anyone hasn't figured it out already, the only thing the Republicans are trying to conserve at this point is the traditional foreign petroleum-based energy policies and economy that have gotten us into the mess we're currently in. Perhaps there was a justification for this militaristic approach to defending our energy resources back in the days of the Cold War and in the 1990s when alternatives weren't too viable. But, all that has changed, and I'm glad a major party candidate like John Kerry is endorsing a new viable energy approach. The fact is that alt.energy has made leaps and bounds of progress in recent years, and at this point it's really only a lack of will that prevents us from swtiching our economy over to a non-petroleum based fuel source. If you want more of your taxdollars wasted fighting wars in the Middle East for yesterday's energy technology, vote for Bush. If you want to see America move forward and free ourselves of foreign energy dependence, Kerry is your man.
